I am pleased to advise that as a result of your recommendation the CAA has carried out an investigation into the use of used helicopter parts in New Zealand. In addition, two Airworthiness Directives requiring positive identification of critical helicopter components have been issued.

The "bogus" component problem identified by our investigation is complex and relatively extensive, and will require the development of appropriate long term measures. Your recommendations will be further taken into account during this process.
