Install suitable weather, tide and swell monitoring equipment to better forecast adverse conditions. For such a system to be effective, it should be monitored and the information gathered, disseminated to the relevant persons.

Eastland Port intends to implement this recommendation. Timing for completion of the implementation will depend on an investigation report yet to be received.
Eastland Port’s marine consultants CentrePort have identified 2 possible sources for such equipment and are presently reviewing the second. We have requested that their recommendations are available by 31st May 2003.
