The safety recommendation is implemented. After completing ground school requirements pilots will conduct VNAV (vertical navigation) approaches instead of using step down approaches. This will be included in revised aircraft Operations Manuals and is subject to Korean Civil Aviation Safety Authority (CASA) requirements. All Asiana Airlines B747, B777 and Airbus aircraft are well-equipped for VNAV operations.
