The Commission is assisting the United Kingdom’s Air Accident Investigation Branch (AAIB) in their investigation of a Robinson R44 helicopter’s emergency landing, roll-over, fatal injuries for one person.

The Commission is assisting the United Kingdom’s Air Accident Investigation Branch (AAIB) in their investigation of an accident involving a Robinson R44 II helicopter registered G-CFNF in South Yorkshire, United Kingdom on 30 October 2025 (UTC*)
The reported circumstances were that the helicopter departed Retford Gamston Airfield, Nottinghamshire, and performed an emergency landing in a field near Bentley, South Yorkshire. The helicopter rolled over during the emergency landing and was destroyed. One of the four people on board was fatally injured in the accident.
The Chief Investigator of Accidents has appointed an Accredited Representative to assist and support AAIB in their continuing investigation. TAIC’s assistance occurs under section 8(2)(e) of the Transport Accident Investigation Commission Act 1990, to cooperate and coordinate with other accident investigation organisations overseas, including taking evidence on their behalf.
