The Commission assisted an investigation by the United Kingdom Air Accidents Investigation Branch (AAIB) into an accident that occurred at about 1407 on 22 August 2023 (UTC) near Enstone, Oxfordshire, UK. The circumstances reported were that a Spitfire MK 26B, registered G-CLHJ, struck the ground during a test flight. The aircraft was destroyed and the pilot did not survive.
